Objective To analyze the risk behaviors correlation between adolescents and their peers, and to explore the peer influence on risk behaviors to HIV/AIDS. Methods 544 out-of-school adolescents were investigated with self-administered anonymous questionnaires by their peers who were being trained at an occupational training center in a county of northeast China in November 2005. In the end, 511 useful questionnaires were collected. Results Adolescents who reported their friends had risk behaviors had more risk behaviors (P〈0.05). Statistical significant risk factors for adolescents who were vulnerable to get HIV/AIDS were listed as the following:Peer influence (Beta = 0.44) , maternal education level (Beta =0. 21), contraceptive education(Beta = 0.26), and family economic status (Beta=0.18). Peer influence was the strongest risk factor to HIV among out-of-school adolescents(R^2 =0. 572). Conclusion Peers play a very important role in HIV/AIDS risk behaviors among out-of-school adolescents.
