摘　　要：通过对四部汉语词典和六部英语原版词典中对隐喻及其相关术语的定义考察可以发现,隐喻术语的定义完全局限在传统隐喻理论的范围,在西方和我国语言学界已经成为主流学术观点的认知隐喻观没有得到任何反映。鉴于此,本文从认知语言学的角度尝试提出了隐喻定义的中英文版本。Through the study of the definitions of metaphor and related terms in four Chinese dictionaries and six English dictionaries of original edition, it can be found that the definitions of metaphor term are confined to the traditional metaphor theory, the cognitive metaphor viewpoint is absolutely not reflected though it has become the dominant academic view in western and domestic linguistic world. For this reason, this paper attempts to propose a Chinese as well as an English version of the definition of the metaphor term from the viewpoint of the cognitive linguistics.
