摘　　要：目前,会展旅游业正呈现出蓬勃发展的态势,但对中小城市而言,会展旅游是一把双刃剑;若不结合自身的具体情况和特色,统筹规划,进行科学合理的研究并付诸实践,则无法发挥其效用,甚至还有可能成为包袱。本文分析中型城市汕头市发展会展旅游的优势、劣势,并提出汕头市会展旅游发展的对策。In China,MICE tourism is showing a flourishing growing trend.But for the small and mediumsized cities,the MICE tourism is a double-edged sword,which means for developing such industry,if not combining with their own specific conditions and characteristics,overall planning,and conducting scientific research and puting into practice,it can not play on a due role in urban development.In this paper,it analyze the strengths and weaknesses facing of the development of the MICE tourism in Shantou,a medium-sized city.Moreover,the strategy of the MICE tourism development in Shantou will be proposed.
