摘　　要：粗糙集理论是一种新型的处理模糊和不确定知识的数学工具。文章介绍了Rough Set理论的基本思想及分析了粗糙集方法的特点,描述了一种基于粗糙集理论的知识发现步骤。Rough set theory,a new mathematical tool dealing with vagueness and uncertainty,was introduced by Paw lak in 1982.In this paper a formalized description of the basic conception of Rough sets theory in information systems is given first,then an attribute reduction algorithm （AR） in knowledge discovery in database（KDD） is proposed along with an example.The results of the examples proves the efficiency of the AR algorithm.
