Objective To investigate the expressions'and the clinical significance of Bcl-2, Bax and C-myc gene in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods Bcl-2, Bax and C-myc gene's expressions in HCC tissue, paracancerous tissue and normal liver tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The rates of Bcl-2 and C-myc positive expressions in HCC tissue were higher than those in normal liver tissue (P 〈 0. 05 ). The rate of Bax in HCC tissue was lower than that of normal liver tissue ( P 〈 0.05 ). The expression of Bcl-2 had no association with the patients' age, sex, the size of tumor, UICC stage and the metastasis (P 〉 0. 05 ). The expression of Bax had no association with the patients' age, sex, the size of tumor and the metastasis (P 〉 0. 05 ), but had some association with UICC stage of HCC ( P 〈 0. 05 ). The expression of C-myc had no association with the patients' age, sex, the size of tumor and UICC stage ( P 〉 0. 05 ), but had some association with the metastasis of HCC ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusions Bcl-2, Bax and C-myc gene maybe cooperate to promote the occurrence and development of HCC.
