摘　　要：对于英语学习者来说,北京奥运会提供的不仅是一次体育盛宴,而且提供了一次难得的英语学习机会。然而,观看之余,我们发现有些翻译尚存待商榷,artistic gymnastics等体育项目的翻译便是其中典型的例子。The 29^th Beijing Olympic Games is not only a great eye feast for sports competition but also a golden opportunity for study of English for Chinese people. Nonetheless, in light of translation, the author has noticed quite a few mistranslations in this regard, the typical example of which is the way of how to translate ＂artistic gymnastics. ＂
