摘　　要：英语已是一种国际通用语言。对英语学习者来说了解英国英语和美国英语之间的联系与差异是非常重要的。英国英语和美国英语在拼写,词汇和语法等方面产生了系统性的差异。尽管具有一些差异,但它们并不是两种不同的语言,而是英语的两种区域性变体。English is already known as an international lingua franca. With the frequency of international communication, there are more and more English learners. Therefore, it＇s very important for English learners to know the relationships and differences between British English and American English. They have systematic distinctions in spelling, lexicon, and grammar. Though there are some differences between them, they are not two different languages, but regional varieties of English.
