The vegetation and the soil of the Korean pine and broadleaf forest and the secondary birch forest were investigated in Changbai Mountain area. We analyzed the value of pH, Total nitrogen, Total phosphorus, rapidly available phosphorus, rapidly available nitrogen and Total organic carbon in the lab and calculate the C/N, C/P. Results showed that the tree' s average DBH, species abundance, canopy coverage and species biodiversity of the Korean pine and broadleaf forest were higher than those of the secondary birch forest. All of the soil nutrients in different layer of soils of the Korean pine and broadleaf forest were higher than those of the secondary birch forest, but the soil pH of the Korean pine and broadleaf forest was lower than that of the secondary birch forest. And the spatial variation degree of the soil nutrients in the Korean pine and broadleaf forest was larger than the spatial variation degree of the soil nutrients in the secondary birch forest. We analyzed the relationship between the difference of the community structure properties and tree's species biodiversity and the difference of the soil nutrients, the total organic soil carbon and the C/N in two forests.
