隔绝与孤独,无法打开的枷锁——美国现代三部戏剧人物的悲剧性分析

摘　　要：美国现代戏剧《榆树下的欲望》,《热铁皮屋顶上的猫》和《动物园的故事》是三部表现小人物的生活悲剧,其悲剧性有独特的表现方式。这三部剧作分别围绕悲剧人物展开了悲剧与命运,悲剧与面具以及悲剧与抗争的三重关系。悲剧人物无法摆脱孤独的宿命,是自我的不可抗拒和战胜,更是社会力量对人性的扭曲和倾轧。Three American modem plays ＂Desire under the Elms＂, ＂Cat on a Hot Tin Roof＂ and ＂the Glass Menagerie＂ were developed around the tragic fates of small dramatic characters. By analyzing the tragic elements in the three plays, this paper explores their tragic characteristics and argues the relationships between tragedy and solitude, between tragedy and mask, and between tragedy and strive. This makes it more convincing that the tragic fates of individuals are tightly related to self - defeating and the distortion of the social power.
