摘　　要：文言传统是外译中的丰富资源。潘文国以我国传统散文会通赫兹列散文,其文言笔法从语篇到选词成功地再现了赫兹列多样的散文风格,这对研究我国传统翻译"会通"思想,反思文言的功过,既有学术价值,又有助于促进当前美文翻译实践。The classical Chinese is a resource available for translation from foreign languages into Chinese. Pan Wenguo identifies Hazlitt＇s essays with those classics of ancient times in China. Pan successfully recreated Hazlitt＇s style, at both lexical and textual levels, by translating his essays with classical Chinese. His success is academically significant in our understanding of the notion of ＂correspondence＂ in Chinese translation tradition and of the strengths and weaknesses of classical Chinese as a means of translation. His effort will also assist in the promotion of essay translation practice in China.
