摘　　要：扬雄《方言》中的"用字之奇",是指用来记录方言词语的字虽然在传世的先秦两汉文献中见到过但不是通常的用法,这些字都是扬雄根据方音而借用来记录方言词语的。具体包括借音字、联绵字和译音字的运用。The ＂ grotesque characters＂ in Yang Xiong＇s Dialects refer to those that are used to describe the dialect. These words are not the commonly used words though once used in literature of Qin Dynasty （221-206 B. C）, Western and Eastern Han Dynasties （206 B. C-220 A. D）. These grotesque words were coined from the local pronunciation by YangXiong to record dialects. The method with which these words are coined are sound-imitation, Lianmianzi （Chinese-words consisting two characters, often alliterated or rhymed）and transliteration.
