摘 要:一些动词可从一种句式转换成另一种,其转换往往是动词的语义与句法交互作用的结果,并与动词的类型紧密关联。动词的句式转换信息在英语学习词典中尤显重要,它可指导词典用户正确使用动词。然而,研究显示,现行的英语学习词典对这一信息的处理缺乏体系,难以满足用户的需求。本文提出用模板的方法系统例释动词。Some verbs can be alternated from one syntactic frame to another. This phenomenon is attributed to complex interdependencies between the meaning of a verb and its complement-taking properties. A verb's syntactic alternations also show a strong correlation with its class. Such kind of information is essential for learners to use a verb properly. Yet, it was found that current English learners' dictionaries had not systematically dealt with verbs' alternations. Thus users' reference needs in this respect can hardly be satisfied. To resolve the problem, we propose that lexicographers adopt the template approach to exemplifying verbs' syntactic alternations.
