摘　　要：姓名是一种区别社会成员的符号,在人与人的社会交往(特别是跨文化交往)中,它不仅起着识别社会成员的重要功能,而且更为重要的是,它是一扇信息交流的窗口,它从一个侧面折射出一个社会及其文化的诸多方面。以文化维度理论为基础,对中西姓名文化底蕴问卷调查的结果进行例释分析,意在了解当代大学生心目中的中西文化差异,助其明晰认知中的盲点,提高他们的文化敏感度。Name is a distinguishable symbol of each member in the society. In social interaction （especially cross - cultural communication）, it carries not only an important function in identifying social member, and more importantly, it is an info - communication window, which reflects many aspects of a society and of its culture in profile. This paper, based on the theory of cultural dimensions, analyzes the findings from the survey of cultural implications between English and Chinese names, with the intention of helping college students to clear out their blind spots in cognitlon, understand their favorite in mind and improve their sensitivity of cultures.
