摘 要:中国传统译论深受儒、道、释境界哲学的影响,形成了翻译的道德和审美两种境界,前者追求的是翻译的"信",后者推崇的是翻译的"美",两者并行不悖,相辅相成,在人生境界那里得到融合和统一,体现了"信"与"美"和而不同的翻译传统。Heavily influenced by the realm philosophy of Confucianism,Taoism as well as Buddhism,traditional Chinese translation studies have developed into two realms,the ethical and the aesthetic. The former,which is longer in history,emphasizes 'sincerity' of the translator or 'trustworthiness' of translation itself while the latter,which took shape about a century ago,focuses on 'beauty' of the language in translation. The two realms seem to be opposite but actually complementary to each other and merge into the integrity of the translator as a noble person,or into the life realm. This is also an embodiment of harmony in diversity,an outstanding feature of the Chinese culture.
