摘　　要：现代汽车的功率越来越大，车速越来越高，车辆内部的摩擦损失越来越小，这就意味着车辆自身的减速能力降低；同时，由于车辆总质量的增加，尤其是重卡，仅仅依靠汽车自身的主制动系统已经不能满足车辆高速重载条件下的制动需求。为了保证其安全性能，必须增加辅助制动器，As modern vehicle is being manufactured with increasingly higher power and speed, friction loss inside vehicle is gradually decreased, the main braking system is insufficient to satisfy requirements under high speed and heavy loading conditions. Therefore, auxiliary braking device is demanded for safety performance, and retarder is such a device commonly adapted at present.
