摘　　要：根据认知语言学认知语境域理论,文章探讨英语定冠词"the"特指用法的认知心理基础。"the"表特指的用法主要体现在篇章用法、情景用法和文化用法方面。这些用法的解读需要一个或多个认知语境域,才能使相应意义明确和具体化。为语篇知识的认知语境域、表征为感知内容的认知语境域和表征为百科知识的认知语境域分别明确"the"表特指的三种用法的认知过程,从而成为"the"表特指意义的认知心理基础。Based on the theory of Cognitive domain in Cognitive linguistics, this paper makes a study on cognitive and psychological base of definite article ＂the＂ with specific reference ： textual use, situational use and cultural use. The understanding of these uses depends upon cognitive domains which make them explicit and concrete. As the cognitive and psychological base of ＂the＂ with specific reference, the domain of textual knowledge, the domain of perception and the domain of encyclopedic knowledge respectively explains the cognitive process of the three different uses.
