Objective To investigate the expression of Tiaml, CD44v6 and Ecadhefin in gastric carcinoma and its relatinoship with the pathobiological behavior. Methods The expression of Tiaml, CD44v6 and Ecadherin in 56 cases of gastric carcinoma and 15 cases normal gastric tissue were examined by immunohistochemical staining and RT-PCR. Results In comparion with those in normal gastric mucosa, the expression of Tiaml and CD44v6 in gastric carcinoma was significantly higher (P = 0. 000,P =0.018) ,and the expression of Eeadherin was lower(P =0. 001 ). There was a closely correlation between the expression of Tiaml ,CD44v6 and Ecadherin in gastric carcinoma and its relationship with differentiated degree(P =0.022 ,P =0. 016, P = 0.018 ). Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between Tiaml and CD44v6( γs = 0. 576, P 〈 0.01 ), and an inverse correlation between Tiaml and Eeadherin (γs= - 0.428,P 〈 0.01 ). Conclusion The expression of Tiaml, CD44v6 and Eeadherin in gastric carcinoma was closely correlated with carcinogenesis, development and differentiated degree.
