Obiective To explore dynamic changes of the Serum neuron-specific enolase in patients with acute cerebral infarction, and to assess and analysis the prognosis. Methods Seventy-six patients between May 2001 and February 2009 in our Hospital were measured with after onset of serum neuron-specific enolase ( NSE ) levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) , and to observe the dynamic changes. And the same time to select 40 cases of normal healthy people as control. Results The first 1,3 days of onset NSE concentrations than normal control group[7. 58 ± 1.40(μg/L) ] was significantly higher ( P 〈 0. 05 ). Group of patients with poor prognosis in the incidence of 3 days levels of NSE, the first 7,14 days at different time points were significantly higher than those in patients with good prognosis group of plasma NSE levels in the same period. Clinical conditions by various types of sub-degree (light, medium and heavy) NSE compared by analysis of variance between each group, there was a significant difference ( P 〈 0. 05 ). Conclusions To monitor dynamic changes of NSE serum levels may help to predict changes in cerebral infarction and prognosis of the disease situation. It is worthy of great importance to clinicians.
