摘　　要：在新的历史时期,必须要从理论和现实的角度深刻认识学习实践科学发展观的重大意义,把开展深入学习实践科学发展观活动作为推动民族高等教育又好又快发展的重要机遇。从湖北民族学院的实际出发,就是要把深入学习实践科学发展观同当前建设湖北民族大学的工作结合起来,以推进更名工作作为提升学校办学水平以及提升民族高等教育水平的有效途径和办法。In the new historical era, an in - depth study of scientific outlook on development will be a significant opportunity for pushing forward the good and fast development of national higher education. This paper puts forward some effective methods and wayout for enhancing the level of running school and promoting national higher education based on the reality of changing the name of Hubei Institute for Nationalities into Hubei University for Nationalities.
