摘　　要：作为一名举世闻名的诺贝尔文学奖得主,美国现代小说家威廉.福克纳用自己独特的艺术风格为世界文化宝库做出了巨大的贡献。本文主要探讨福克纳的小说《喧哗与骚动》班吉篇中班吉、凯蒂和康普生太太的言语与行为。这些不同的言语和行为揭示了小说的主题——美国旧南方家庭关系和其中的感情纠葛,反映了20世纪初期美国旧南方社会中理想与现实、传统观念与现代观念之间的矛盾与冲突。As a famous Nobel literature prize winner, American modem novelist William Faulkner has made outstanding con- tributions to the treasure - house of world literature by the unique artistic style. This article mainly explores speeches and actions of Benjy, Caddy and Mrs. Compson in Fanlkner＇s novel The Sound and the Fury. All the different speeches and actions reveal the novel＇ s theme - the family relationship and emotional disputes in the Old South of America, and mirror the contradictions and conflicts among ideal and reality, traditional and modem concepts at the beginning of the 20th century.
