摘　　要：李荣先生自1965年至1999年,发表了近20篇与"考本字"有关的文章,在大量具体的考证实例中论及了"考本字"的理论和方法。这些理论和方法涉及本字的含义、考本字的意义、考本字的条件和考本字的具体方法四个方面。From 1965 to 1999, Li Rong published about 20 articles on the ＂study of original words＂, and discussed the theories and approaches based on a large number of research studies. In this paper, general statement of these theories and approaches are made from four specific perspectives： the implications, meanings, conditions and specific approaches of original characters. Besides, the author＇s experience of applying these theories and approaches to actual practice are also discussed with the examples of ＂study of original words＂ in the research of ＂southern Hunan dialect＂.
