摘　　要：回顾了华中科技大学城市规划专业的办学历程,分析了规划专业教育由建筑、工程技术向社会、经济、环境、管理与政策科学拓展的过程,结合毕业生就业状况,总结了华中科技大学城市规划专业办学方向、办学优势及人才培养特色,并探讨了规划专业教育进一步发展及改革的方向。This paper reviews the history of the urban planning major in Huazhong University of＂ Science and Technology （HUST） and analyses the development that the study fields of urban planning extend from engineering to science, economy, environment, management and polity. Based on the analysis of employment of the graduates, it summarizes the orientation, priorities and characters of urban planning major in HUST and discusses its development and renovation direction.
