摘　　要：文章论证GIS及其主要功能、运用GIS实现计算机辅助世界地理教学的可能性,并举出实例说明GIS在《世界地理》教学中的应用。在《世界地理》课程教学中应用GIS辅助教学,对于学生了解GIS的内涵、基本功能及发展趋势,熟练操作GIS软件,提高实践动手能力等方面均具有重要的推动作用。GIS在《世界地理》教学中具有重要的支撑作用,并有广阔的应用前景。This paper demonstrated on the main function of Geographical Information System and the possibility of CAI in Geography of World, took a example to show how to use Geographical Information System in the geography lessons. It is very meaningful for students to know the connotation, the main function and the develop trend of Geographical Information System, to operate skillfully, to exploit and to improve their ability in practice. Geographical Information System can support teachers in teaching Geography of World; it also has a broad prospect in application.
