摘 要:引申改变诸多风格元素,导致风格变形,语义失真。根源就在于引申只适用于描述译文与原文的语义对应关系,一旦升格为翻译方法,应用到翻译之中,则容易出现偏差,误导翻译实践研究。翻译方法不是产生于译文与原文的对比之中,而是来源于对文本诸多语义元素的研究。In the paper a criticism of the extended translation is conducted on two aspects. First, the practicability of the extended translation approach is disproved on account of its fallure to some extent to render a version true to the style and meaning of the original text through a sample analysis of English- Chinese translations, which have been assumed to be the illustrative examples supportive of the extended translation approach. Then the concept of the extended translation approach is falsified due to its illogical deduction and development from a term concerning the static relevance of the corresponding language points between the original text and the target version to a concept of productive translation method. The paper suggests that a translation approach come from the analysis of textual elements in the functional perspective rather than the relevance of the corresponding language points between the original text and the target version.
