摘　　要：《野棕榈》是福克纳作品中饱受争议的一部小说。从它最初的出版、到内在的情节、结构、人物、主题等,一直吸引着研究者的关注。本文从文本结构入手,深入探讨了小说所隐含的命运主题,进一步阐明命运是福克纳小说创作的元命题。无论是微不足道的个人,抑或是一度辉煌的旧南方,在不可理喻、不可抗拒的命运洪流中,即便是奋勇抗争,或者是苦苦挣扎,再或者是逆来顺受,都终将被命运裹挟而去。The Wild Palms might distinguish itself as the most controversial of all Faulknerian works. From the time it came out in 1939, it has aroused debates over its publication, plot, structure, character and meaning, and provoked a lasting interest. The focus of this paper is to interpret the theme of destiny elaberated throughout the text, which is in essence the metaproposition of Faulknerian ficition. Whoever it is, an individual or the South, and however hard one strives to escape from all the restraints of fate, he is doomed to be swept away by the torrents of destiny. .
