摘 要:Scalp Laplacian is the 2D Laplace oper- ation on the scalp surface potential. In the last thirty years, three approaches were developed for the Laplacian estimate. Among them, the moderate and global methods were both based on various potential interpolation func- tions for various head model, whereas the earliest and sim- plest local method, the difference approximation, was still based on a planar surface model. In this work, the lo- cal difference approximation approach was extended to a spherical surface model. The 2nd and 4th order approxi- mation were derived and a proportional coefficient differ- ence was revealed between the planar and the spherical surface models. This work provided the theoretical basis of the local difference approach for Laplacian on a spherical head surface.
