摘　　要：科学地对待科学,伦理地对待科学,构成了杜威科学观的基调。在杜威眼里,现代科学既改变了人们的世界观,又给人的生活带来了新的希望,并为人们走向新生活鼓起了勇气,也使人们摆脱了宿命论和悲观主义对人的精神生活的控制。在科学活动中,培养科学精神并贯彻人文精神是第一位的任务。培养科学精神意味着培养勇于探索的精神、追求真理的精神、忠于事实的精神和自由探讨的精神。在科学活动中贯彻人文精神,意味着在科学活动中体现美的理想和善的价值。科学精神与人文精神在根基处不是分裂的。它们的互渗,可以为我们正为之奋斗的合理化的社会开辟道路。To treat science in scientific and ethical ways is the keynote of Dewey＇s doctrine of science. In the eyes of Dewey, modern science changed our views of the world,brought new hope into our life and encouraged us to go to a new life, enabled us to get rid of the dominance of fatalism and pessimism in human life of spirit. In scientific practice, the first task is cultivation of the spirit of science and exercise of the spirit of the humanities. Cultivation of the spirit of science means cultivation of the spirit of courageous groping, search for truth, loyalty to facts as well as free discussion while exercise of the spirit of the humanities means to embody the ideal of beauty and value of good in scientific practice.
