摘　　要：社会服务是大学的三大基本职能之一,是社会发展对大学提出的必然要求,也是大学可持续发展的重要途径。大学为了更好地实现自己的使命,彰显自身的价值,必须不断增强社会服务的意识,提高社会服务的水平,在推动社会发展和人类文明进步中作出应有的贡献。浙江大学自合并组建以来,坚持"顶天"与"立地"相结合和"高水平、强辐射"的办学理念,大力开展地方服务,取得了显著成效,产生了良好的影响。浙江大学的实践进一步表明,研究型大学应当为社会提供强大有效的服务,并在服务社会中获得可持续发展的强劲动力,从而逐步形成自身的办学风格和特色。Social service is one of the three basic functions of universities. It is not only the inevitable requirement of so- cial development for universities, but also an important way for its sustainable development. In order to achieve their mission and demonstrate their own value, universities must continue to enhance the awareness of social service, im- prove social service level and promote social development and progress of human civilization. Since the merger of the new Zhejiang University in 1998, it has vigorously carried out social service with the schooling bining top days with the site ＂and ＂high level and strong radiation＂. It turns out that new Zhejiang University has achieved remarkable achievements and good social effects. The practice of new Zhejiang University indicates that re- search universities should provide the community with strong and effective services. Meanwhile, research universities can get the strong driving force for sustainable development and gradually form their own way of teaching styles and characteristics.
