摘 要:关于日本左翼文学的价值,历来或褒或贬、莫衷一是。早期左翼文学的代表作家木下尚江的《火柱》被称为是明治社会主义小说的滥觞,然而《火柱》发表两年后《忏悔》的发表使得其社会主义者的身份和创作目的都受到了质疑。本文从两部作品入手,通过对《火柱》的主题和艺术局限的分析,以及对《忏悔》中表现出的作家人格因素和创作动机的解读,客观地认识到木下小说存在形象塑造等方面缺陷的同时所具有的时代感染力和文学史价值,指出明显的创作动机和意图直接影响了左翼小说创作的艺术得失。Ideas about the value of Japanese leftist literature vary in the critical circle. The novel Pillar of Fire by Kinoshita Naoe, a representative of the early leftist literature, has long been regarded as the beginning of the socialist literature in Meiji Period. However, his other novel The Confession of a Husband published two years later aroused a question about his identity as a communist and his creative motivation. The present author, by analyzing the theme and the artistic limitations of Pillar of Fire, and the author' s personality and creative motivation embodied in The Confession of a Husband, believes that, though with drawbacks in characterization, the novel of Pillar of Fire is of power of its times and of value in literary history, and thus points out that the motivation and intention of literary creation exerted a direct influence on the artistic value of Japanese leftist literature.
