摘 要:隐喻作为一种认知方式在国内外外语教学界已受到重视。许多外国著名语言学家曾经对"隐喻能力"的内涵提出独到的见解,他们认为"隐喻能力"指在交际过程中正确辨认、使用和创造隐喻的能力。笔者以为"隐喻能力"还应包括学习者在学习过程中对知识进行由此及彼、由旧及新的迁移能力。从隐喻的研究历史入手,探索"隐喻能力"概念的源头及内涵,并应用于外语教学中。Metaphor is highlighted as a way of cognition in the foreign language teaching field throughout the world. Many foreign linguists have put forward their especially worthy views on connotation of metaphoric competence, and point out that metaphoric competence is the competence of accurately recognizing and using metaphors, as well as the competence of creating metaphors in the process of communication. But the writer of the paper thinks that the competence of knowledge transplantation from the known to the unknown should be included. This paper will begin with the research history of metaphor, and then explore the origin and connotation of metaphoric competence, so as to apply it to foreign language teaching.
