摘　　要：隐喻与诗歌有着深刻渊源，中外诗歌中部充满了隐喻的精彩演绎．．西方认知隐喻理论认为人类的理性思维与想象性思维一样都是隐喻性的。基于这种崭新的认知观，诗歌语言与常规语言的传统划分将受到挑战。西方认知语言学家对诗歌隐喻的全新阐释完全建立在英语国家语料的分析上，其宣称的普遍性有待于跨文化的验证。中国学术史上缺少隐喻研究的统一理论框架，但中国诗学传统从不缺乏对隐喻认知的真知灼见。从某种程度上来讲，现代西方认知理论只是在数千年后对这一认知观的再次印证和系统构建。Metaphor has been regarded as an important device of the poetic imagination in both English and Chinese. In terms of poetic metaphor, modem cognitive theory in the West holds that metaphor making is not peripheral but central to human reasoning processes; and thus, the distinction between ＂poetic language＂ and ＂ordinary language＂ has been proved untenable. This essential theoretical issue has only been proved true by reliable data in Western world and English speaking countries. The present research presents a comparative study of poetic metaphor in English and Chinese poetry in hope of digging out some fundamental notions and use of metaphor in Chinese poetics so as to provide evidence from a cross-cultural perspective to reinforce the claim which holds the conceptual nature of metaphor. The study finds that though lacking of systematic study of metaphor, this newly accepted ideas about poetry and metaphors has long before illustrated clearly in Chinese poetic theory some thousand years ago. And in a certain sense, the modem theories of Western cognitive linguists simply echo this principle centuries later.
