英汉语之间借词的跨文化对比研究

摘　　要：英、汉两种语言中的借词涉及政治、经济、科技、语言、哲学等诸多领域。在对英、汉语之间的借词进行跨文化比较研究后发现,英汉两种语言在表达时存在词汇空缺,不同的文化背景、地理环境、历史变迁、科学技术及其发展水平等因素导致了英、汉借用领域中存在较大差异。英汉互借方式的探讨,对英语词汇教学、跨文化交际、英汉词汇研究和掌握具有积极的指导意义。Loan words in Chinese and English involve such domains as politics, economics, technology, language, philosophy and so on. This paper, after making a cross-cultural contrastive study of loan words in Chinese and English, discovers that the differences of their distribution domains are caused by lexical vacancy, different cultural background and geographical characteristics, historical change and different levels of technological development. The explorations into loan words between English and Chinese will have guiding significance to English vocabulary teaching, cross-cultural communication and vocabulary research.
