Objective To observe the changes of CD4^+ CD25^+ regulatory T cells(Treg cells) in peripheral blood in children with hemophagocytic syndrome(HPS) in order to reveal the role of Treg cells in the pathogenesis of HPS and evaluate its clinical significance.Method The flow cytometry was used to determine the proportion of CD4^+ CD25^+Treg cells in the peripheral blood of 17 patients with HPS who were newly diagnosed(newly diagnosed group),11 patients with AML who achieved complete remission(CR group) and 20 normal healthy people(control group).Result Compared with that of control group, the proportion of CD4^+ CD25^+ Treg cells in newly diagnosed group and in CR group were significantly increased(P〈0.05).The proportion of CD4^+ CD25^+ Treg cells in CR group were lower than that in newly diagnosed group(P〈0.05),but were still higher than that in control group(P〈0.05).Conclusion The increase of CD4^+ CD25^+ regulatory T cells is likely to be one of the important factors that result in immunologic suppression in patients with hemophagocytic syndrome, and which is of significances in prognosis of HPS.
