摘 要:Thompson&Hunston(2000)认为评价具有三大功能:表态功能、维系功能和组篇功能。其中,评价的组篇功能研究尚未引起充分的重视。美国社会语言学家Labov早在20世纪70年代研究叙事作品结构时就已涉及评价的组篇功能。近年来,随着评价理论作为一个系统的全面形成,该研究更加不容忽视。本文全面回顾了评价组篇功能研究的历史,将其划分为两个阶段。第一阶段评价作为语篇的特定部分参与组篇,第二阶段评价渗透于整个语篇参与组篇。文章在此基础上,试图指出当前评价组篇功能研究的特点与问题所在。Thompson Hunston (2000) assume that there are three functions that evaluation can be used to perform:expressing opinion; maintaining relations and organizing discourse. Compared with the first two functions,texturing evaluation has not received much attention. It in fact started as early as in 1970s when Labov studied the overall structure of narratives. With the establishment of Appraisal Theory in recent years,this area deserves more research. This paper reviews its history by roughly dividing it into two stages. The first is characterized by evaluation being a specific part of discourse while the second features evaluation spreading across the whole text. Based on this,the paper attempts to present features and inadequacies of current studies on texturing evaluation.
