摘　　要：蔡元培先生是我国伟大的教育家。他认为,大学是研究高深学问的学府,基于其对大学性质的认识,他的办学思想集中体现在"思想自由、兼容并包"这一原则上。蔡元培先生的大学教育思想给我国高等教育改革与发展提供了借鉴和参考,即我国要创建一流大学,就始终要把研究高深学问作为一流大学的重要特性,大学自身要形成合理的学缘结构,以营造一种"思想自由、兼容并包"的学术环境。同时大学要实行学分制改革,加强对选分制的管理和建设,强化学生对选课过程的指导,从而形成学生知识结构的系统性。Cai Yuan-pei is a great educator in China. He believes that a university is an institution in which the profound knowledge can be researched. Based on should be embodied on the principle of ＂freedom of understanding the nature of university, the school-running thought thought and all-inclusive＂. The university-education thought of Mr. Cai Yuanpei provides lessons and references for the reform and development of higher education in China. To create a first-class university,China should always take the research of higher learning as a vital feature of first-class universities,a university itself should set up a rational teacher-educated-origin structure to create an academic environment with ＂freedom of thought and all-inclusive＂, and meanwhile university carry out the reform of the credit system, strengthen the management and construction of the credit-selecting system and intensify the guidance of student course-selecting process so as to form the systematization of student knowledge structure.
