摘　　要：麦尔维尔用对小说形式的实验来打破传统的浪漫主义小说创作传统,探讨了英美小说创作中的哥特小说传统和分析《白鲸》的非美国化场景,赋予了作品丰富的艺术价值与主题意义。借助于场景的非美国化,麦尔维尔成功地抨击了美国19世纪的奴隶制。This paper,by discussing of the traditional gothic novel writing of the Anglo-American fiction and analyzing of the non-American setting of Moby-Dick,explores the artistic and the thematic the meaning of the novel in relation to its non-American setting.It contends that Melville not only breaks through the convention of the traditional romantic novel writing by way of the experiment on form,but also bestows the novel with artistic value and thematic significance.By means of the non-American setting of Moby-Dick,Melville successfully attacks the slavery of the nineteenth century.
