摘  要:严复是中国思想文化发展史上继孔子、朱子之后又一座里程碑。中国思想文化发展过程经历两种截然不同的路径:一是在中国思想文化传统基础上的创新、发展,如汉儒学和宋理学。尤其是朱熹理学创建了中国封建社会最为精致、最为完备的理论体系。二是外来文化的中国化,如严复是促使西方现代思想中国化,用以儒家思想为核心的中国思想文化传统中合理内核来诠释西方现代思想的。严复与真正意义上的近代思想家,包括地主阶级思想家(如张之洞)和资产阶级思想家(如康有为),有本质上的不同。后者均为近代社会的文化表现,即"中体西用"观论者,而严复是批判"中体西用"论的。严复是中国第一位现代思想家。Yan Fu is another milestone of Chinese ideological and cultural history of the development, following Kong Zi, and Zhu Xi. The development of Chinese thought and culture experiences two kinds of entirely different ways: Firstly, the innovation and the development, on the basis of Chinese thought culture tradition, such as Chinese Confucianism and Song Neo - Confucianism. Especially, Zhu Xi Neo- Confucianism creates the most exquisite and the most complete theoretical system of Chinese feudal society. Secondly, the extra culture becomes the China culture, such as Yan Fu promotes Western modern thought being Chinese, and uses the rational kernel of Chinese intellectual and cultural traditions, which is the core of the Confucianism, to explain western modern thought. Yan Fu is a truly modern thinker, Including landlord class thinkers (such as Zhang Zhidong) and bourgeoisie thinkers (such as Kang Youwei), Whose thoughts have essentially differences. The latter are the modern society's cultural performance, namely "Western Exploitation on Chinese System" view discussing, but Yan Fu criticizes "Western Exploitation on Chinese System" theory. Yan Fu is the Chinese first modem thinker.
