摘 要:英国艺术评论家罗杰.弗莱的艺术美学思想对英国"新传记"代表人物雷顿.斯特拉奇的传记观产生很大影响。弗莱强调的艺术的自律性、艺术对生活的穿透力、艺术的超然性和艺术是艺术家本人的自我表达的观点,为斯特拉奇摆脱传记的功利性影响,实现传记的真实性,把传记重新引入艺术行列提供了理论支撑。但是斯特拉奇的"新传记"在一定程度上也是理想化的传记,因而不能完全脱离社会和个人的影响。This study explores the impact of Roger Fry's aestheticism upon 'the New Biography',of which Lytton Strachey is the representative.Lytton Strache contributes to biography in that he gets rid of Victorian biography's dullness,achieves the truthfulness in biography and once more brings biography back into the field of art.By examining Roger Fry's aestheticism,the paper maintains that Lytton Strachey's success is realized out of his conception of biography,which is buttressed partly by Roger Fry's artistivision which insists on the artistic autonomy,artistic penetration into life,detachedness on the artist and the artist's means of expression.However,'the New Biography' is to some extent is too idealistic to be deprived of influences from both outside and within.
