摘　　要：我国的翻译史源远流长,几乎和中华文明一样久远。在我国翻译史上,曾经活跃着一群被称为"通事"的翻译人员,他们所在的时期,可以称之为"通事时期"。本文探讨了通事时期的起始及终结,并客观评价了通事时期通事对于中外交流及各民族交流发挥的重要作用。The history of translation in China is almost as long as the history of Chinese civilization,during which there existed a group of people who were called Tongshi,and as a result this period can be called Tongshi Period.The author explores the beginning and ending of this period and gives tongshi an objective evaluation on their roles in the communications between Chinese people and other peoples.
