摘　　要：美国后现代派作家托马斯.品钦《葡萄园》中潜藏着一种秩序,一种不同于西方传统的新的伦理基调。通过对因果报应在西方的接受、因果报应在小说中的表征和因果报应在后现代社会的意义三方面的探讨可以看出作者重塑伦理基调的社会氛围和理论支撑,从而判定佛教基本理论之一的因果报应思想是作者在西方传统伦理遭受重创的时刻重塑社会道德的希望所在。There is a new order, a new keynote of ethics which is different from that of the western tradition hidden in the postmodern writer Thomas Pynchon＇s Vineland. Through the analysis of three aspects, which are the reception of Karma, karma as demonstrated in the novel and the meaning of karma in postmodern society, the social environment and the theoretical support of the author＇s reshaping the keynote of ethics have been shown, which leads to the result that karma, one of the basic theories in Buddhism, is the hope of the author to reshape the social values during the period of the heavy casualties of the traditional western values.
