摘　　要：《高等学校英语专业英语教学大纲》规定高等学校英语专业要培养复合型英语人才。然而,一刀切地要求所有英语专业学生成为复合型英语人才是不切合实际的。地方高校英语专业人才的培养必须根据当地的社会经济发展水平和学生的实际状况,设置多样性的人才培养定位,以多样性形成地方高校英语专业人才培养定位的差异性,方能在众多的英语专业中形成优势和特色。The State English Teaching Syllabus for English Majors at Higher Institutions specifies English majors as inter-disciplinary talents.However,it is unrealistic that all the English majors are fostered into this kind of talents.City colleges and universities have to flexibly set different education programmes for English majors to satisfy the various local needs of human resources and students＇ different needs for future development.The diversity of the education programmes aims to shape English majors into competitive graduates over those from other universities.
