摘　　要：胡庶华是我国近现代一位杰出的教育家。他在丰富的治校实践中形成了融合中西教育之长的大学教育思想。其特色是秉持以"承朱张之绪,取欧美之长"为核心的大学理念,注重大学文化建设,培育具有鲜明特质的大学精神;注重思想道德教育,培养具有健全人格的文武全才;注重学术研究,倡导大学学术化;注重服务社会,倡导大学地方化;注重师资队伍和支撑体系建设,着力提高办学质量。胡庶华为促进我国大学教育事业特别是湖南大学、同济大学、重庆大学、西北大学等重点学府的建设和发展作出了重要贡献。学习和探讨胡庶华的教育思想和治校实践对于今天的高等教育改革和发展仍然具有重要的意义。HU Shu--hua is an outstanding educator in the history of Chinese higher education. Based on his rich governance practice, HU Shu--hua＇s thought of university education incorporates the strong points of the western modern education and Chinese traditional education and it is characteristic of： first, attaching great importance to unixiersity culture construction to foster the distinct university spirit; second, paying great attention to ethic education to cultivate the all--round developed student; and third, laying stress on academic study to promote academic standard; fourth, laying emphasis on serving society to promote the localization of university; fifth, emphasizing the construction of teaching faculty and conditions to improve the quality of higher education. HU Shu--hua has made great contribution to the development of Chinese higher education, especially the development of the key universities such as Hunan, Tongji, Chongqin, and Northwest University. It＇s necessary for us to study his valuable educational thoughts and practice.
