34%~38%。The effects of dietary carbohydrate levels on growth performance and plasma biochemical indices in juvenile Hephaestus fuliginosus with initial body weight of(4.02 g±0.11 g) were investigated. The animals in a net cage were fed five experimental diets containing 26%,30%,34%,38% and 42% of carbohydrate for 60 days with triplication. The maximal specific growth rate(SGR) and feed efficiency(PE) were found in the fish fed the diet containing 34% carbohydrate(P〈0.05).The fish fed the diet containing 42% carbohydrate showed the minimal serum total protein(TP)(P〈0.05).There were no significant differences in serum albumin(Alb) and serum globulin(Glb) among the five groups(P〉0.05).The fish fed the diet containing 42% carbohydrate, however, had the maximal blood glucose(GLU)(P〈0.05),triglyceride(TG)(P〈0.05) and total cholesterol(TC)(P〈0.05).There were no significant differences in the activities of glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase(GOT),glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT) and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) among the five groups(P〉0.05),indicating that the optimal requirement of the fish for carbohydrate was 34%-38% in the diet.
