摘　　要：语言是社会的产物,不能脱离社会而存在。英语骂詈语作为英语语言的一个有机组成部分也不能例外。本文把英语骂詈语纳入社会语言学框架下进行研究,从宗教和社会歧视两方面对英语骂詈语的社会文化根源进行探讨分析,揭示英语骂詈语这种语言变异现象的本质和意义所在。Language is a product of society which can not be divorced from society. English expletive as an integral part of English is no exception. The paper studies English expletives under the background of sociolinguistics framework,and explores its social causes from the religion and the social discrimination to reveal the nature and significance of the phenomenon of the English expletives.
