摘　　要：Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare's masterpieces.By analyzing the background of the play,the direct portrayal of Julius Caesar,conspirators'comments,common people's attitude and some theoretical devices,it is safely to come to the conclusion that Shakespeare portrays Caesar as a great and wise leader.The assassination against him is certainly not justified but a cruel crime.Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare＇s masterpieces.
