摘  要:本文论述中、英两个民族思维习惯的差异及其导致的图片文字说明中的表达差异。作者认为,具像思维与逻辑思维、综合思维和分析思维的不同直接导致了文章图片说明的不同翻译:强调直观经验——注重抽象;综合——本质;高句法单位——低句法单位;浮华夸张——客观严谨。翻译时应充分考虑上述差异,力求使译文更加符合两个民族的思维、阅读习惯。IIn this paper the author makes analysis to the differences of thinking ways between the English and Chinese people and as a result the differences in English and Chinese literal presentation for the picture introduction in propaganda.In her opinion,it is just such differences as concrete and logical thinking,synthetic and analytical thinking that have caused the different translation of picture introduction: focus on direct experience-stress on abstract;synthesis-essence;high syntactic unit-low syntactic unit;exaggeration-reality.All these differences should be taken into consideration in the translation work so as to make it more satisfied with the thinking and reading habits of both English and Chinese readers.
