摘　　要：在语用学中,礼貌原则是一个重要的组成部分。它对我们的日常交流起着很重要的作用。委婉语是一种语言现象,一种文化现象,更是一种社会现象,在一定程度上,它反映了社会的价值观、审美观和美德观。通过委婉语,可以避免语言过于直白而给对方造成尴尬或伤害。从某种角度上说,委婉语是对礼貌原则的具体实施。Politeness Principle is an important part of pragmatics.It plays a quite vital role in our daily-life communication.Euphemism is not only a phenomenon of language and culture but also of society.To some extent,it reflects the value,aesthetic standard and virtue.By means of euphemism,we can get rid of the embarrassment or hurt caused by directness.Therefore,euphemism,to some degree,is the practice of Politeness Principle.
