摘 要:本研究考察英语专业学生英汉译文中"翻译腔"现象与翻译任务复杂度和工作记忆能力之间的关系。研究发现,"翻译腔"的出现频率与翻译任务复杂度正相关,与译者工作记忆能力负相关;"翻译腔"产生的一个重要原因是翻译任务对译者认知资源特别是工作记忆容量的需求超出了其工作记忆能力,译者理解无法生成基于原文的非语言的、图示性的语义表征。The paper reports on an empirical study of the relationship between "translationese" in English-Chinese translations by senior English majors on the one hand and the complexity of translation tasks and translators' working memory capacity on the other. The results show that frequeney of "translationese" is in significant positive correlation with the complexity of translation tasks but in significant negative correlation with translators' working memory capacity; and presumably "translationese" owes its occurrence not only to the demand of the translation task for cognitive resources exceeding the available capacity of translators' working memory but also to translators' failure in comprehension to generate appropriate semantic representations, which are supposed to be of non-linguistic and schematie nature.
