女性自我意识觉醒的生命代价——麦琪和埃德娜悲剧命运的比较研究

摘　　要：乔治·爱略特《弗罗斯河上的磨坊》中的麦琪和凯特·肖邦《觉醒》中的埃德娜在她们看似迥异的人生中都经历了女性自我意识的觉醒和失落,在面对来自父权社会的种种压力时,她们只能以生命为代价来反抗压力并维护自己觉醒的意识。麦琪和埃德娜的比较研究揭示了觉醒女性悲剧命运的必然性。Maggie in The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot and Edna in The Awakening by Kate Chopin have completely different life experiences.Both of them,however,experience the awakening and deconstruction of female self-realization.When they face the pressure from the patriarchic society,they have to sacrifice their lives so as to fight against the pressure and maintain their awakening self-realization.The comparative study of Maggie and Edna reveals the inevitability of tragic fate of awakening women.
