《白噪音》:现代技术元叙事和技术责任主体的缺失

摘　　要：《白噪音》描绘了20世纪60年代末美国城镇的生态危机,以伤痛叙事凸显了现代技术的无处不在,构成了技术批判的经验性表达。这一语境下人物的"死亡恐惧"和作者对"生命质量"的深层思考,引导读者关注"现代技术"与"人类生存"的关系问题。现代技术的无处不在和人们对它不假思索的信任表明技术已经成为一种"元叙事"。它在破坏自然秩序和人类内在平和的同时,也给人类带来了"人工的死亡"。本文从小说中技术责任缺失的现象推衍出,在处理现代技术所产生的问题上,人类应负起作为技术责任主体的义务,对技术的应用持更为谨慎的态度。White Noise documents the urban biological crisis in the end of the 1960s in the United States as well as the omnipresence of modern technology through neo-realistic writing techniques,and thus forms an empirical expression of criticism about technology.In such a discourse,the fear of death felt by the characters and the author's deep reflection on the'life quality'inevitably invite careful readers to think about the relationship between modern technology and the survival of humanity.The omnipresence of modern technology and people's taking-for-granted trust in it show that modern technology has become a meta-narrative.It has destroyed the natural order and the inner peace of mankind and produced artificial disorder.The novel seems to imply that in dealing with the issues caused by modern technology,mankind should be accountable to the problems and adopt a more cautious attitude toward the use of technology.
